Loza Maléombho was born in Brazil, raised in Côte d’Ivoire and in the United States. Loza’s multi cultural background – of Ivorian Central African Chadian and Corsican descents – as well as her early world wide exposure have inspired her culturally eclectic aesthetic in artistic expressions. She graduates from the University of the Arts of Philadelphia in 2006 and interns along side designers Yigal Azrouël, Jill Stuart and Cynthia Rowley from 2006 to 2007.
Loza Maléombho was founded in New York City in 2009 with a vision to redefine W. African made clothing in the eyes of the rest of the world and ameliorate the social and economic conditions of women in Côte d’Ivoire. The label is established in NYC while the production takes place in Grand-Lahou, Côte d’Ivoire.
Loza Maléombho received the award for Emerging Designer of the Year 2012 at Arise Magazine Fashion Week.
